Itinerary - Christian Bible Land Tour

Monday, Day 1Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, transfer to Jerusalem

Welcome to the land of the bible – Israel!

Our Bible Land tour begins upon arrival after or before (VIP service at airport) passport control.  Meet and greet and transfer to hotel in Jerusalem.

Overnight in Jerusalem.

Tuesday, Day 2New City of Jerusalem

Enjoy our first breakfast at our hotel. After, meet the guide to visit: Jerusalem and Bethlehem

ISRAEL MUSEUM:

(Shrine of the Book)

Located with in the Israel Museum complex, is where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed. Also the renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating to the Second Temple.

and

(Model City)

Also located within Israel Museum complex, the model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating to the Second Temple.

Ein Kerem

The town is a picturesque village in the south western outskirts of Jerusalem. The village has significant Christian traditions, since this is where according to tradition John the Baptist was born. It si also where he visited his parent summer house.

Yad Vashem:

Is the official memorial to the Jewish victims who perished in the Holocaust, established in 1953, located at the foot of Mt. Hertzl.

Bethlehem:

Known for the site of the Nativity, enclosed by the Church of the Nativity at Manger Square.

Afternoon/evening:

We will return to our hotel for dinner.

Overnight in Jerusalem.

Wednesday, Day 3Jerusalem: The Old City

Breakfast at hotel. Today, visits will include: The Old City

Western Wall:

Also known as The Wailing Wall or The Kotel (in Hebrew), which is the last remaining Temple wall. The wall is a relatively a small segment of a far larger retaining wall. The wall was originally erected as part of the expansion of the Second Jewish Temple, built by Herod. This was build on top of a steep hill known to Jews and Christians as the Temple Mount.

Via Dolorosa:

Where Jesus walked at the stations of the cross to His Crucifixion hill. Retrace the steps Jesus, while experiencing the bazaars and marketplaces, similar to what He saw. Enjoy shopping at leisure and a chance to test our negotiating skills.

Jewish Quarter (Old City):

The restored Jewish Quarter, includes the site of the Cardo (meaning; “The Heart”), the unearthed main Roman thoroughfare and ancient marketplace lined with columns.

Church of the Holy Seplechre:

It is believed by many Christians, this was the site of Golgotha; where Jesus was crucified and where he resurrected.

Mount Zion:

The site of the Upper Room or also know as “The Room of the Last Supper (Mark 14.13, Luke 22. 10-38, Matt 26 17-29, Acts 1.13). The tomb of King David is located one floor below. A magnificent panoramic view of Jerusalem.

Mount of Olives:

Situated just outside the old city on the east side. On top of the mountain, A magnificent panoramic view of the Old City and the Golden Gates.

Garden of Gethsemane:

Located at the bottom of the mount, with an urban garden, most famous for the site where Jesus prayed in many occasions prior to His crucifixion.

Machane Yehuda

Located at the heart of downtown neighbourhood of Jerusalem, Explore the market of Mahane Yehuda and experience the flavors, aromas, colors and the traders’ interaction with the crowds, at the largest open market in Israel.

Afternoon/evening:

Return to hotel, followed by dinner.

Overnight in Jerusalem.

Thursday, Day 4Journey to the Galilee

After breakfast, leave Jerusalem and travel north to the Galilee region. Visit will include the following:

Jordan Valley:

See the dessert bloom with flowers and vegetation, prophesied by Isaiah in chapter 35:1-2.

Beit Shean:

Largest ongoing archaeological dig in the land of Israel. Visit includes; the amphitheater, colonnaded Roman streets, mosaics and Roman bathhouses (1st Samuel 31:10).

Nazareth:

The location of the Grotto, enclosed by the Church of Annunciation. Also see the Church of St. Joseph, located over the traditional site where Mary and Joseph lived. See the ancient City Well, believed to be the site where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary.

Safed:

The Mystic city, where Kabala began and considered the 3rd Holiest city in Israel. See the old synagogues and wander through the artists’ colony.

Afternoon/evening:

Arrive to our hotel in the Galilee and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Overnight in Galilee.

Friday, Day 5Golan Heights and Western Galilee

Breakfast at hotel, followed by a short tour of Tiberias. After Tiberias, visits will include:

Golan Heights:

Visits will include the following:

  • Pass by Banias, source of the Jordan River.
  • Visit a former Syrian fortification from past wars.
  • View from a distance a Druze villages.
  • Experience a vineyard and wine tasting in the wine country on the Golan with breathtaking views.
Golan Heights Wine Valley:

Enjoy an Israeli wine country experience, with vineyards surrounded by breathtaking views. Become acquainted with the collection of fine and rare wines enjoying a tour, wine tasting and understanding of the wine production process.

 

Drive south to Western Galilee and visits will include:

Mount of Beatitudes:

Where Jesus delivered what is perhaps the most famous sermon ever preached – “The Sermon On The Mount” (Matt. 5).

Capernaum:

Center of Jesus’ Galilean ministry and the site of many of His miracles (Mark 2:4; Matt. 8:5; 14-17; 9:1-7; 17:18). See the remains of Peter’s House, a 2nd century synagogue.

Tabgha:

Site of the the “Loaves and Fishes”, including the Church of the multiplication (John 6:1-14), a 4th century mosaic floor.

Tiberias:

Short tour of the old center of Jewish learning.

Boat Cruise on the Sea of Galilee:

Optional sailing in a boat across the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquility and scenery – subject to conditions and additional fee.

Afternoon/evening:

We will return back to our hotel and enjoy a relaxing dinner. Evening at leisure.

Overnight in the Galilee.

Saturday, Day 6Journey to the Mediterranean Coast

After breakfast, journey towards the Mediterranean coast. Visit will include the following:

Akko (Acre):

A crusader port located on a promontory at the northern end of Haifa Bay. See the natural harbor, port, underground passages, secret rooms, as well as the prison.

Haifa:

Ascend Mt. Carmel for a panoramic view of Haifa Bay and the Botanical Gardens below. It is also where Elijah fought the 400 false prophets of Baal.

Caesarea

Built by Herod the Great 2,000 years ago and once the capital of Judea. Here, Paul embarked on his journey to Tarsus (Acts 9:30) and where Cornelius and his family (the first Gentile believers) lived. The visit will include; the excavated fortress, Roman amphitheater and a view of the aqueduct, which once used for conveying water to the city.

Afternoon/evening:

Arrive to our hotel in Tel Aviv and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Saturday, Day 7Masada and Dead Sea tour

Early breakfast and drive towards the Dead Sea region. Start to descend to the lowest lowest point on earth 1305 feet (398m) below sea level. Visits will include:

Qumran:

Where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a young shepherd boy.

Masada:

Ascend by cable car to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Masada to see where the Jewish Zealots struggled against the Romans. The Zealots held out for three years against the legions of Flavius Silva. They chose to die as free men at their own hands in preference to Roman slavery and torture.

Dead Sea:

Lowest point on the surface of earth to 1305 feet (398m) below sea level. The Dead Sea is uniquely formulated in a small body of water (similar to a lake) and includes 11%-13% salt and other natural ingredients. Float on the Dead Sea and cover ourselves in mud (weather permitting).

Afternoon/evening:

Return back to Tel Aviv and to our hotel for dinner.

Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Monday, Day 8Departure

After breakfast (depending on flight times), transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure.
